IRC is seeking a energetic, highly organized and experienced administrator to support the Emergency Response Team based in Bangkok. The Accountant will handle bookkeeping with accounting/financial transaction process for emergency response team to ensure handle in professionally manner.

Accountant - Emergency Response Team

Location: Bangkok Office, Emergency Response Team – International Rescue Committee
Reports to: Financial Controller

Responsibilities
1. Manage cheque payment systems and ensure compliance with IRC financial rules, regulations and procedures
2. Manage cash receipt transactions
3. Coordinate closely with logistic staff to ensure that all inventories are being managed and recorded effectively and accurately
4. Provide training and advice to staff concerning compliance with IRC financial rules and regulations
5. Prepare and pre-check the accuracy of all finance and finance-related documents prior to processing
6. Calculate withholding tax in compliance with the Thai Revenue Department rules and regulations
(if any)
7. Issue withholding tax receipts for submission to Thai Revenue Department (if any)
8. Prepare photocopy allocation report for submission to Finance Controller
9. Update cheque data and reconcile against bank registrations
10. Update VAT report for ERT
11. Assist Finance Controller to perform other duties as necessary
12. Alert Finance Controller to any suspected discrepancies and/or improprieties in expenditure and accountability of project funds
13. Ensure safe and responsible practices for financial management and cash security (e.g., cash handling procedures, cash payments/transactions)


Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• Highly organized and self supervising
• Minimum 3 years experience in accounting and payment processing
• Good English and computer literate with strong excel/database skills
• Willing to learn new tasks and take on responsibility, comfortable working in a flexible environment and interacting with staff in regional, country and HQ.
